Responsibilities
- Specify and decompose the hierarchical scenario space into a scenario taxonomy for L4 autonomous vehicles.
- Identify and design key features of the Scenario Taxonomy based on system capabilities and stakeholder requirements.
- Assess the Scenario Taxonomy for data correctness/accuracy and sufficiency in identifying failure modes.
- Collaborate with Systems V&V, Autonomy Development, Mapping, Data Infrastructure, and Operations teams.
- Understand and work within existing taxonomy efforts, including database structures and storage.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Drive a motorized vehicle on public roads in the US.
Job Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and systems-thinking skills with attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of autonomous vehicle technology, especially sensors and perception capabilities.
- Ability to apply systems engineering concepts of requirements, verification, and validation.
- Familiarity with simulation capabilities and limitations.
- Ability to write code in Python and perform basic data queries.
- Understanding of driving rules/regulations and/or traffic engineering.
