Responsibilities
- Define and own the end-to-end architecture, roadmap, and performance targets for the vehicle sensor suite.
- Lead the selection, validation, and integration of all sensor hardware and associated components.
- Ensure the sensor system meets automotive and functional safety requirements.
- Manage key supplier relationships and support contract negotiations.
- Oversee the industrialization and manufacturing process for sensor hardware.
- Drive collaboration with Software Infrastructure, Mechanical Engineering, and Perception teams.
- Manage a large, multidisciplinary engineering team and foster career development.
Job Requirements
- B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or related field.
- Minimum of 15+ years of engineering experience, with 5 years in a leadership role.
- Expertise in AV sensor types (Lidar, Radar, Camera) and product cycles in automotive or consumer electronics.
- Experience with functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262).
- Strong communication and presentation skills for technical issues.
- Background in managing supplier relationships and driving technical requirements.
- Proven ability to recruit and scale a multidisciplinary engineering organization.
