Responsibilities
- Define and own the end-to-end architecture, roadmap, and performance targets for the vehicle sensor suite.
- Lead the selection, validation, and integration of all sensor hardware and associated compute components.
- Ensure the sensor system meets automotive and functional safety requirements for AV deployment.
- Manage key supplier relationships and support contract negotiations.
- Support industrialization and manufacturing processes for sensor hardware.
- Drive collaboration with Software Infrastructure, Mechanical Engineering, and Perception teams.
- Manage a large, multidisciplinary team of engineers and foster their career development.
Job Requirements
- B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or related field.
- Minimum of 15+ years of professional engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Deep expertise in AV sensor types (e.g., Lidar, Radar, Camera) and product cycles.
- Experience in defining solutions for functional safety (e.g., ISO 26262).
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Proven experience managing multi-million dollar supplier relationships.
- Ability to recruit, mentor, and scale a multidisciplinary engineering organization.
