Responsibilities
- Design primary and secondary aircraft structural parts and assemblies using metallic and composite materials.
- Lead and prepare engineering design solutions in collaboration with IPT and other technical disciplines.
- Collaborate with structural analysis, manufacturing, and materials processes to produce flight weight structures.
- Employ GD&T and Model Based Engineering methods for airframe layouts and engineering definitions.
- Develop and document best practices while mentoring junior engineers.
- Interface with suppliers, customers, and program leadership to address engineering challenges.
- Conduct design and trade study efforts for new aircraft designs or modifications.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant STEM discipline with 8 years of experience, or a Master’s with 6 years, or a PhD with 4 years.
- Experience in designing composite aircraft parts and components.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- Preferred degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficiency with NX Solid Modelling or similar 3D modeling software.
- Understanding of GD&T and MBE methods.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
