Responsibilities
- Design primary and secondary aircraft structural parts, assemblies, and installations using metallic and/or composite materials.
- Lead preparation of engineering design solutions and Product Definition Packages.
- Collaborate with structural analysis, manufacturing, and materials processes to produce flight weight structures.
- Employ GD&T and Model Based Engineering (MBE) methods for airframe layouts.
- Mentor less experienced engineers and develop/document best practices.
- Interface with IPT/Program leadership, suppliers, and customers.
- Conduct trade studies and lead design efforts for new aircraft designs or modifications.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant STEM discipline and 5 years of related experience, or Master’s degree with 3 years of experience, or PhD with no experience.
- Experience designing composite aircraft parts/components and assemblies.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government Secret clearance.
- Preferred degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficiency with NX Solid Modelling or similar 3D modeling software.
- Understanding of GD&T and MBE methods.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and goal-oriented.
