Responsibilities
- Design parts and systems for construction machines to increase throughput and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement machine improvements.
- Develop concepts and downselect preferred implementations for various functions.
- Design and fabricate prototypes, including working with internal and external resources.
- Create detailed CAD models and fabrication drawings using SolidWorks.
- Conduct field work on utility scale solar sites, requiring the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Improve reliability and maintainability of parts based on field use feedback.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) required.
- 2-5 years of hands-on engineering experience.
- At least 500 hours of professional experience using SolidWorks.
- Experience designing and creating fabrication drawings for manufactured parts.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Construction experience is desirable.
- Ability to travel for fieldwork and lift objects up to 25 pounds.
