Responsibilities
- Design for Manufacturing (DFM) expertise to analyze engineering design specifications for manufacturability.
- Develop structured process flows from complex engineering designs and specifications.
- Conduct capacity assessments at supplier sites to ensure supply readiness for production ramps.
- Collaborate with design engineers to understand assembly and sub-system design intent.
- Work with procurement to strategically source parts based on supplier competencies.
- Serve as the liaison between purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to resolve quality issues.
- Create and implement a production part approval process (PPAP) with selected suppliers.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a STEM discipline.
- 5+ years of manufacturing, process, or supply chain engineering experience.
- 5+ years of experience with PCB, mechanical, or electronic assembly manufacturing.
- Knowledge of supplier quality processes and quality systems (ISO 9000/TS/AS9100/NADCAP).
- Proven track record in ownership and negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with statistical techniques such as design of experiments and Six Sigma.
- Ability to analyze supplier quality and delivery metrics to drive improvement plans.
