Responsibilities
- Create and refine spacecraft mechanical designs using CAD (Solidworks).
- Manage the delivery of mechanical vehicles and subsystems.
- Develop clean-sheet mechanical structures while balancing risk and development speed.
- Generate quick concepts for early program phases.
- Perform stress and dynamic analyses to support design decisions.
- Contribute to the development of mechanical engineering standards.
- Design test fixtures for development and environmental testing.
Job Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in designing/building/testing flight hardware in the Space industry or similar.
- B.S. or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience as an individual contributor structural/mechanical engineer.
- Proficiency in CAD design and understanding of drawings, GTOLs, and BOMs.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Nice-to-have skills include experience with solar arrays, structural testing for spacecraft, and software skills in Python, Matlab, C, or C++.
