Responsibilities
- Create and refine spacecraft mechanical designs using CAD (Solidworks).
- Own the delivery of mechanical vehicles and subsystems, collaborating with various engineering teams.
- Develop clean-sheet mechanical architectures balancing risk and development velocity.
- Generate quick concepts for early program discussions.
- Perform basic stress and dynamic analyses to support design decisions.
- Contribute to the establishment of mechanical engineering standards and culture.
- Design test fixtures for development and environmental testing.
Job Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in designing/building/testing flight hardware in the Space industry or similar fields.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or higher.
- Experience with CAD, structural/mechanical engineering, and understanding of drawings and BOMs.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Nice-to-have skills include experience with solar arrays, structural tests for spacecraft, and software skills in Python, Matlab, or C/C++.
- Experience managing external vendors for part prototyping and development.
