Section Head, Systems Engineering (Mechanical)

The Section Head, Systems Engineering (Mechanical) at Moog is responsible for leading a team of engineers in managing requirements and supporting validation/verification tasks across multiple development programs. This role involves providing engineering and project leadership, managing team performance, and ensuring project milestones are met.

• Manage execution of work by teams through monitoring progress and providing technical direction.
• Mentor direct reports in Systems Engineering and career development.
• Supervise team members by setting goals, providing feedback, and recognizing achievements.
• Support new business initiatives through trade studies and customer presentations.
• Manage the advancement of the product development process with technical support and tool development.
• Participate in the Engineering Leadership Team to set direction and develop processes.
• Provide technical expertise to Systems Engineering and cross-disciplinary teams.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Aerospace preferred) with 7+ years of experience, or MS Degree with 5+ years.
• Team/project leadership experience.
• Proficiency with DOORS requirements management tool.
• Experience across all Systems Engineering domains, including requirements development and system design.
• Critical thinking and relationship-building skills.
• U.S. DoD Security Clearance or ability to obtain one; U.S. citizenship required.
• Experience in Safety-Critical Aircraft Control Systems or Actuation Systems is a plus.
