Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical and electrical systems for robotics, ensuring ergonomics and performance.
- Support part fabrication and complex custom sub-assembly with internal/external partners.
- Construct sub-assemblies to full system level robot prototypes in the lab.
- Build subsystem test fixtures, design tests, and analyze data for failure analysis.
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team of engineers to deliver technical solutions.
- Conduct tolerance analysis and apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Engage in research related to Electro-mechanics, Sensor and Communication, and Planning and Control.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Mechanical/Electrical Design Engineering, with a focus on Machine Design.
- Proficiency in designing electromechanical assemblies, particularly in robotics.
- Experience with CAD tools like SOLIDWORKS or Siemens NX.
- Familiarity with prototyping processes and materials.
- Knowledge of embedded systems and communication protocols.
- BS degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Preferred: 3+ years in Mechanical Design Engineering and experience in consumer electronic product design.
