Responsibilities
- Architect complex mechanical solutions as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Model, build, test, and refine prototypes and characterization test systems.
- Work across the full product development cycle, from concept inception to shipping product.
- Leverage external teams to maximize internal resource focus on product value.
- Champion engineering quality and establish the design process.
- Travel to external vendors up to 20%.
Job Requirements
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
- 10+ years of product design and development experience in handheld/wearable electronics.
- Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and CAD.
- Knowledge of material properties and high-volume manufacturing techniques.
- Testing and analysis experience (FEA, Simulation, Design of Experiments, etc.).
- Preferred MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience developing multiple novel consumer electronics products from concept to production.
