Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design for components, features, or systems with an understanding of end-to-end product development.
- Contribute to mechanical solutions within a cross-functional team.
- Model, build, test, and refine prototypes and characterization test systems.
- Work through the entire product development cycle, from concept to product shipping.
- Collaborate and manage work with Asia-based Supply Chain.
- Innovate technologies and approaches to solve complex mechanical problems in collaboration with technical teams.
- Travel to external vendors up to 20%.
Job Requirements
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
- 6+ years of industry experience in mechanical design.
- Proficiency in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and CAD tools.
- Knowledge of material properties and high-volume manufacturing techniques.
- Experience in testing and analysis (FEA, Simulation, Design of Experiments, etc.).
- Preferred: 8+ years of product design experience in consumer electronics and fluency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese.
- Preferred: MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering.
