Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design for a specific component, feature, or system with an understanding of the full product development cycle.
- Contribute mechanical solutions as part of a highly cross-functional team.
- Model, build, test, and refine prototypes and characterization test systems.
- Collaborate across the full product development cycle, from concept to product shipping.
- Manage collaboration with Asia-based Supply Chain.
- Innovate technologies and approaches to solve complex mechanical problems.
- Travel to external vendors up to 20%.
Job Requirements
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
- 6+ years of industry experience in mechanical design.
- Proficient in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis, and CAD.
- Knowledge of material properties, testing, and analysis techniques.
- Experience with high-volume manufacturing techniques.
- Preferred: 8+ years in product design for consumer electronics.
- Preferred: MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering.
