Principal Mechanical Engineer (R&D)

The role is for a Principal Mechanical Engineer focused on developing and shipping consumer electronics, wearables, and robotic systems, leading a team to innovate hardware systems for business success.

• Lead mechanical team through the full product development cycle to deliver mechanical component/subsystem designs from concept to production.
• Define and execute long-term roadmaps in partnership with external and internal hardware and research teams.
• Partner with researchers and industry to advance TRL of component technology and proactively de-risk integration.
• Mentor and coach other mechanical engineers.
• Leverage technical knowledge to influence business strategy and research portfolio.

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience developing high-volume consumer products with stringent SWAP-C constraints.
• 10+ years of experience in 3D CAD modeling (NX or similar).
• Experience in advancing design and manufacturing technologies.
• Experience influencing VPs & Directors on business strategy.
