Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical team through the full product development cycle to deliver mechanical component/subsystem designs from concept to production
- Define and execute long-term roadmaps in partnership with internal and external hardware and research teams
- Partner with researchers and industry to advance TRL of component technology and de-risk integration
- Mentor and coach other mechanical engineers
- Leverage technical knowledge to influence business strategy and research portfolio
- Create an environment of mentorship within the mechanical team
- Direct modeling teams to use multipart, multiphysics simulations to optimize design
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience developing high-volume consumer products with stringent SWAP-C constraints
- 10+ years of experience in 3D CAD modeling (NX or similar)
- Experience in advancing design and manufacturing technologies
- Experience influencing VPs & Directors on business strategy
- Technical depth in Robotics, Textiles, and/or Elastomers
- Extensive invention and patent portfolio
