Metrology Automation Engineer

The Metrology Automation Engineer will focus on developing and implementing optical metrology solutions for AR displays, working with cross-functional teams to enhance optical technologies.

• Define, design, and develop optical metrology solutions including hardware engineering and test software implementation.
• Lead code development for image/data analysis and optimize for increased throughput.
• Develop automated test scripts based on product requirements.
• Create benchtop and production instrumentation for characterizing optical modules and systems.
• Perform statistical analysis on metrology data to correlate with performance metrics.
• Explore novel optical metrology technologies and collaborate with suppliers on prototypes.
• Establish tester alignment and calibration procedures to ensure accuracy.

• Bachelor's degree in Optical, Electrical Engineering, or relevant field.
• 2+ years of experience in test automation using LabView, Matlab, or Python.
• In-depth knowledge of tester hardware control and experience developing drivers in Python.
• Knowledge of geometric optics and optical metrology.
• Experience in statistical data analysis using Minitab or JMP.
• Strong cross-functional communication skills.
• Preferred experience in AR/VR field and familiarity with image processing.
