The Fixed Equipment Reliability Engineer at Marathon Petroleum is responsible for ensuring the reliability of fixed equipment in a refinery setting, collaborating with various departments to address issues and implement corrective measures.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct fabrication shop reviews and review fabrication drawings for compliance with codes and standards.
  • Identify critical spare parts and ensure equipment setup in stores.
  • Perform API fitness for service evaluations and provide corrective actions for operations.
  • Collaborate with inspectors and engineers to establish reliability recommendations.
  • Conduct root cause failure analyses and document findings.
  • Develop Project Request Forms for reliability improvements.
  • Define expectations and project deliverables related to reliability requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related degree.
  • 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer in a refinery or heavy industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to wear appropriate PPE and perform field tasks.
  • Clean and valid driver’s license.
  • Legally authorized to work in the US without future VISA sponsorship.
  • Willingness to be on-call during off-hours and support turnaround efforts.
