Responsibilities
- Design, test, analyze, integrate, qualify, and document hardware of moderate to high complexity.
- Ensure optimal thermal and structural design in system packaging.
- Lead mechanical design approaches and packaging techniques for the Systems organization.
- Capture and analyze hardware engineering requirements in the area of expertise.
- Participate in compliance testing with Nationally Recognized Test Labs for EMI/EMC and safety standards.
- Conduct root-cause-analysis and technical investigations for thermal and mechanical designs.
- Serve as the point of contact with outside fabricators to ensure quality workmanship.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in system mechanical design with successful product releases.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
- Proficient in a 3D CAD solid modeling software package.
- Familiar with thermal and structural testing and analysis.
- Strong understanding of heat transfer principles, materials selection, and design for vibration environments.
- Experience with electronics packaging.
- Preferred: Familiarity with 3D printing equipment and processes, FEA software (ANSYS, SolidWorks), and thermal simulation software (IcePak, Flotherm).
