Responsibilities
- Design mechanical components of optical systems, including lens mounts and machined components.
- Collaborate with vendors to produce initial prototypes and production parts.
- Assemble and test early prototypes, using results to refine designs.
- Conduct modeling and simulation tasks for key design elements.
- Finalize mechanical requirements and specifications for designs.
- Design tooling and fixtures for prototyping and testing.
- Document designs and test results.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in designing complex mechanical assemblies.
- Hands-on experience with assembling and testing mechanical assemblies.
- Proficiency in CAD, particularly SolidWorks.
- Experience with finite element analysis and related methods.
- Knowledge of GD&T and ASME/ISO drafting standards.
- Proven teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Strong documentation skills.
