Responsibilities
- Design mechanical components of optical systems including lens mounts and machined/injection molded components.
- Collaborate with vendors to deliver prototypes and production parts.
- Assemble and test early prototypes, using results for design improvements.
- Conduct modeling and simulation tasks for key design elements.
- Finalize mechanical requirements and specifications for designs.
- Design tooling and fixtures for prototyping and testing.
- Document designs and test results.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in designing complex mechanical assemblies.
- Hands-on experience in assembling and testing mechanical assemblies.
- Proficiency in CAD, preferably SolidWorks.
- Experience with finite element analysis and ASME/ISO drafting standards.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with others.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
