Responsibilities
- Design mechanical components of optical systems including lens mounts and alignments.
- Create machined and injection molded components.
- Collaborate with vendors to deliver prototypes and production parts.
- Assemble and test early prototypes, using results to improve designs.
- Conduct modeling and simulation tasks for key design elements.
- Finalize mechanical requirements and specifications.
- Design tooling and fixtures for prototyping and testing.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in designing complex mechanical assemblies.
- Hands-on experience with assembling and testing mechanical assemblies.
- Proficiency in CAD, preferably SolidWorks.
- Experience with finite element analysis and other analysis methods.
- Knowledge of GD&T and ASME/ISO drafting standards.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Good documentation skills.
