Responsibilities
- Provide vision for the mechanical engineering team, fostering creativity and execution.
- Develop compelling product architectures in collaboration with senior management.
- Prioritize tasks and set goals consistent with overall product development objectives.
- Assess employee performance and provide coaching for improvement.
- Manage the development of functional specifications and risk documents.
- Ensure compliance with FDA requirements and maintain design history files.
- Provide administrative leadership for planning, staffing, and budgeting.
Job Requirements
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience.
- Direct experience in designing and developing precision opto-mechanical products.
- Proven ability to manage suppliers and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with all phases of the product development lifecycle.
- Strong project management and planning skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Preferred: MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
