Responsibilities
- Independently build and integrate complex optical, vacuum, mechanical, and electrical hardware with minimal instruction.
- Develop, refine, and document assembly processes, work instructions, and SOPs in collaboration with engineers.
- Lead by example in maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety, and quality.
- Create and review technical solid models and drawings.
- Develop inspection methods and create inspection forms for custom parts.
- Conduct inspection throughout manufacturing processes to ensure quality standards are achieved.
- Support production line maintenance, continuous improvement, and troubleshooting.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 4 years' experience in precision hardware assembly (optics, vacuum, or high-reliability electromechanical systems).
- Associates or bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or related fields.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with incomplete instructions.
- Experience with handling delicate components and equipment, including precision optics and fiber optic components.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing quality principles (inspection, GD&T, traceability).
- Familiarity with optical inspection methodologies and basic electronics test and assembly practices.
- Great verbal and written communication skills to effectively share information with technical and non-technical staff.
