Responsibilities

  • Independently build and integrate complex optical, vacuum, mechanical, and electrical hardware with minimal instruction.
  • Develop, refine, and document assembly processes, work instructions, and SOPs in collaboration with engineers.
  • Lead by example in maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety, and quality.
  • Create and review technical solid models and drawings.
  • Develop inspection methods and create inspection forms for custom parts.
  • Conduct inspection throughout manufacturing processes to ensure quality standards are achieved.
  • Support production line maintenance, continuous improvement, and troubleshooting.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years' experience in precision hardware assembly (optics, vacuum, or high-reliability electromechanical systems).
  • Associates or bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with incomplete instructions.
  • Experience with handling delicate components and equipment, including precision optics and fiber optic components.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing quality principles (inspection, GD&T, traceability).
  • Familiarity with optical inspection methodologies and basic electronics test and assembly practices.
  • Great verbal and written communication skills to effectively share information with technical and non-technical staff.
