Responsibilities
- Evaluate requirements and develop mechanical designs for avionics systems.
- Conduct design reviews to achieve cross-disciplinary consensus on design validity.
- Design products for manufacturability and coordinate with suppliers for part fabrication.
- Perform hand calculations and FEA to predict system performance.
- Analyze structural modes, thermal performance, and other critical aspects of avionics devices.
- Develop and document efficient build processes and improve instructions with technicians.
- Communicate technical challenges and resolve concerns effectively.
Job Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
- Experience designing mechanical components using CAD software.
- Understanding of static loads and heat transfer methods.
- Familiarity with fabrication methods like CNC milling and 3D printing.
- Hands-on experience with basic mechanical tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and learn new skills.
- Strong communication skills for technical challenges and rationale explanation.
