Responsibilities
- Evaluate requirements and develop mechanical designs for avionics systems.
- Conduct design reviews to ensure cross-disciplinary consensus on design validity.
- Design products for manufacturability and collaborate with suppliers for fabrication.
- Perform hand calculations and finite element analysis (FEA) for system performance predictions.
- Analyze structural modes, thermal performance, and critical aspects of avionics devices.
- Document efficient build processes and work with technicians to improve instructions.
- Communicate technical challenges and resolutions effectively.
Job Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in designing mechanical components using CAD software.
- Understanding of static loads and heat transfer methods.
- Familiarity with fabrication methods like CNC milling and 3D printing.
- Hands-on experience with basic mechanical tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and learn new skills.
- Strong communication skills for discussing technical challenges.
