Responsibilities

  • Own and understand subsystem designs including electromagnetic, structural, fluid, thermal, and control systems.
  • Learn from historical engineering approaches and design novel hardware.
  • Fix hardware issues on integrated fusion generators.
  • Apply engineering first-principles to challenging problems.
  • Collaborate on R&D efforts and contribute fresh ideas for next-generation machines.
  • Explore potential system upgrades to enhance overall performance.
  • Gain hands-on experience solving real-world engineering problems.

Job Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Ability to work full time, onsite in Everett, WA for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks during summer 2026.
  • Hands-on exposure to various engineering disciplines (e.g., mechanical, electrical, fluids).
  • Experience with 3D CAD software (e.g., NX, SolidWorks) and GD&T.
  • Commitment to learning from experts in the field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to apply method-based thinking.
