Responsibilities
- Own and understand subsystem designs including electromagnetic, structural, fluid, thermal, and control systems.
- Learn from historical engineering approaches and design novel hardware.
- Fix hardware issues on integrated fusion generators.
- Apply engineering first-principles to challenging problems.
- Collaborate on R&D efforts and contribute fresh ideas for next-generation machines.
- Explore potential system upgrades to enhance overall performance.
- Gain hands-on experience solving real-world engineering problems.
Job Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Ability to work full time, onsite in Everett, WA for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks during summer 2026.
- Hands-on exposure to various engineering disciplines (e.g., mechanical, electrical, fluids).
- Experience with 3D CAD software (e.g., NX, SolidWorks) and GD&T.
- Commitment to learning from experts in the field.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to apply method-based thinking.
