Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of Balance of Plant systems, including heat transport and power conversion.
- Perform thermal-hydraulic analyses and flow simulations to optimize system performance.
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure integration of reactor module and external systems.
- Support specification, material selection, and vendor coordination for critical subsystems.
- Develop P&IDs and system flow diagrams to define plant configuration.
- Conduct trade studies on system configurations and technologies for efficiency and scalability.
- Document system requirements and analyses to support design certification.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Nuclear, or Systems Engineering (PhD preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in thermal-fluid systems or power generation design.
- Proficiency with thermal-hydraulic modeling and simulation tools (e.g., RELAP5, MATLAB).
- Knowledge of heat exchangers, pumps, and piping design.
- Experience with system integration and mechanical design for power plants.
- Familiarity with ASME design codes.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
