Sr. Director of Hardware Systems Engineering

The Sr. Director of Hardware Systems Engineering at Groq is responsible for leading the design, development, and delivery of the next-gen High Performance Compute Platform, focusing on hardware systems engineering and SoC integration.

• Define and own the hardware systems engineering roadmap and strategy for the AI inference platform.
• Lead the architectural definition and trade-off analysis for complex hardware systems.
• Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of hardware systems engineers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure holistic system design and product delivery.
• Provide technical oversight for all phases of hardware system development.
• Lead design and validation of high-speed interfaces and power delivery networks.
• Establish reliability and qualification processes for hardware components and systems.

• 12-15+ years of experience in hardware systems engineering.
• BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Expertise in custom Silicon/ASIC/SoC design and integration.
• Experience with high-speed digital design and board-level design principles.
• Proven ability to debug complex issues at the SoC/board/firmware interface.
• Strong understanding of system validation and root cause analysis for SoC-centric problems.
