Responsibilities
- Act as the lead electrical engineer for all third-party data center projects, ensuring adherence to Google's technical standards.
- Coordinate with third-party engineering firms, aligning project goals and providing technical recommendations on all global projects.
- Provide subject matter expertise on power systems, including protection, controls, and low/medium/high voltage distribution.
- Lead the technical review and evaluation of electrical designs, ensuring they meet the required power, reliability, and safety standards.
- Develop infrastructure improvements and ensure compliance with codes and standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a project environment.
- Communicate recommendations to senior-level executives and drive implementation alongside facilities technicians.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 12 years of experience in the design, construction, or commissioning of electrical systems for facilities.
- 10 years of experience with power distribution, protection schemes, and control systems.
- 10 years of experience with electrical codes, safety regulations, and project management principles.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Experience with mission-critical facility infrastructure and data center projects.
- Familiarity with power systems analysis software (e.g., ETAP, SKM) and knowledge of automation and control systems (e.g., SCADA, BMS).
