Responsibilities
- Run manual machining operations on various equipment (lathe, bridgeport, waterjet, laser cutter, CNC router).
- Execute secondary operations including deburring, parts cleaning, and inventory management.
- Perform preventative maintenance duties on machine shop tools and equipment.
- Execute workplace improvement projects such as custom rack fabrication and inventory management solutions.
- Assist in planning and design review stages of engineering projects.
- Work on projects to enhance R&D machining efforts, including fixtures and coolant delivery solutions.
- Collaborate with shop personnel and maintain an organized work environment.
Job Requirements
- Passion for making and fabricating designs with mechanical and electrical hardware.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with multiple teams.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage diverse projects under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with or eagerness to learn about machine tools and processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T.
- Bonus: Experience as a machinist or fabricator and familiarity with manufacturing processes.
