Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and test battery pack systems to meet critical performance requirements
- Work collaboratively with analysts to drive design decisions based on first principles
- Participate in component design reviews and fabricate/testing first-of-a-kind prototypes
- Conduct vendor engagements and collaborate with manufacturing engineers for production transition
- Collaborate with Battery Cell and Systems teams on auxiliary systems development
- Learn product design best practices from senior engineers
- Champion safety in new laboratory processes
Job Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Bachelor's with 2+ years of industry experience
- Understanding of first-principles modeling and design for manufacturing optimization
- Experience in a manufacturing environment or with contract manufacturing vendors
- Demonstrated experience in mechanical design and interdisciplinary interfaces
- Direct experience in product development within an early-stage environment
