Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a world-class team of mechanical engineers.
- Lead product development and mechanical design of components for the battery cell.
- Define and drive necessary analysis (e.g., FEA) and hands-on testing.
- Analyze component and assembly tolerances and develop performance/reliability trades.
- Collaborate with module design engineers for seamless integration of components.
- Ensure design decisions meet safety standards in collaboration with safety and compliance teams.
- Partner with manufacturing engineers to release design packages for high-volume production.
Job Requirements
- 10+ years of industry experience in mechanical design and proficiency in CAD.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience leading, managing, and mentoring direct reports.
- Experience in plastic component design for structural applications.
- Knowledge of plastic sealing technologies and their implementation.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Direct experience with high-volume manufacturing and prototyping techniques.
