Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a world-class team of mechanical engineers.
- Lead the product development process and mechanical design of battery cell components.
- Define and drive necessary analysis, including FEA and hands-on testing.
- Analyze component and assembly tolerances, developing cost/manufacturing/performance/reliability trades.
- Collaborate with module design engineers for seamless integration of components.
- Ensure design decisions meet safety standards in collaboration with safety and compliance teams.
- Partner with manufacturing engineers and supply chain to release design packages for production.
Job Requirements
- 10+ years of industry experience in mechanical design with high proficiency in CAD.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience leading, managing, and mentoring direct reports.
- Expertise in plastic component design for structural applications.
- Familiarity with plastic sealing technologies and their implementation.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Direct experience with high-volume manufacturing and fabrication techniques.
