Director, Applications Engineering

The Director of Applications Engineering at Flex leads the pre-sales engineering function, managing a team to drive technical excellence and align customer requirements with operational capabilities in contract manufacturing.

• Lead and mentor a team of Sales Solutions Engineers.
• Allocate team resources across customer opportunities.
• Establish and evolve pre-sales engineering processes and tools.
• Collaborate with Sales and Operations leadership.
• Develop comprehensive manufacturing solutions.
• Drive the creation of technical proposals and documentation.
• Represent the voice of the customer in internal discussions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in contract manufacturing or technical sales.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes.
• Experience in regulated industries like medical devices or aerospace.
• Understanding of quality systems and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP and CRM solutions preferred.
