Responsibilities
- Design waterproof robot bodies, brushing systems, drive trains, and docking systems for marine conditions.
- Test designs using simulations and real-world prototypes.
- Rapidly iterate on mechanical prototypes to enhance performance and manufacturability.
- Collaborate with vendors and fabrication partners for component sourcing and manufacturing.
- Conduct design reviews and ensure integration of mechanical systems with cross-functional teams.
- Contribute to system-level problem solving and failure analysis.
Job Requirements
- 2+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience, preferably in robotics or marine systems.
- Expert CAD skills (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360) with knowledge of design for manufacturability.
- Hands-on fabrication experience, including CNC and 3D printing.
- Familiarity with electromechanical systems and marine materials.
- Strong analytical skills for design support through calculations and testing.
- Experience with underwater or marine robotics is a bonus.
- Knowledge of fluid dynamics or CFD capabilities is desirable.
