Responsibilities
- Collaborate with optical engineers on mechanical feasibility and manufacturability of space-based optical payloads.
- Perform detailed tolerance analysis to ensure optical integrity under various conditions.
- Implement solutions for maintaining optical alignment during assembly and launch.
- Conduct structural/thermal/optical analysis using FEA/FEM tools.
- Identify temperature-sensitive components through thermal modeling and empirical data.
- Create CAD models and engineering drawings for components.
- Support integration and testing activities for payload systems.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Optomechanical, or related fields.
- 8+ years of experience with optomechanical hardware.
- 5+ years of experience with space flight hardware.
- Experience in designing optical systems for space applications.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and finite element analysis.
- Experience with precision mechanical assembly and alignment.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
