Responsibilities

  • Investigate and resolve complex, intermittent, and systemic issues across the Atlas fleet.
  • Act as the engineering link between robot operations technicians and core design teams.
  • Design and develop automated diagnostic checks and data-driven models for performance monitoring.
  • Advocate for design changes to improve robustness and serviceability based on field data.
  • Mentor other engineers in system-level debugging and reliability design.
  • Collaborate closely with technicians and operations teams to address real-world issues.
  • Implement systemic solutions that enhance fleet reliability.

Job Requirements

  • Extensive hands-on experience debugging complex robotic systems (12+ years with a Bachelor's, 8+ with a Master's, or 5+ with a PhD).
  • Deep understanding of electric geared motors and motor control firmware.
  • Proven track record of implementing systemic, data-driven solutions for fleet reliability.
  • Proficient in C++ for debugging and Python for data analysis.
  • Strong understanding of robotics, including kinematics and dynamics.
  • Preferred experience in robotics reliability, diagnostics, or fleet management.
  • Expertise in statistical analysis and predictive modeling for hardware performance.
