Responsibilities
- Perform and lead engineering activities including Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA), and Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA).
- Ensure compliance with AFSPCMAN 91-710 range safety requirements.
- Ensure traceability between system and subsystem functions, requirements, and safety artifacts.
- Use system safety products to perform an overall safety analysis of the vehicle.
- Assist in representing vehicle elements within the SLD architecture for reliability analyses.
- Develop and implement a System Safety Program Plan.
- Collaborate with design teams to implement appropriate hazard controls and verifications.
Job Requirements
- B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, or related technical subject area.
- Knowledge of systems engineering practices and mission/safety critical systems.
- Experience with systems safety analyses on complex systems and working with anomalies/root cause corrective actions.
- Ability to coordinate safety analysis products across different engineering fields.
- Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills.
- Preferred: M.S. in a relevant technical field and experience with safety requirements and tools like Jama, Cameo, Confluence, and JIRA.
- Typically 5+ years of relevant experience.
