Responsibilities
- Cradle to grave ownership of new design solutions for launch vehicle structural/fluid Umbilicals assemblies
- Create design artifacts including 3D models, detail part drawings, assembly drawings, and installation drawings
- Coordinate with integrated product teams to execute manufacturing, production, integration, and test activities
- Perform or facilitate hand calculation and/or FEM analyses of new designs
- Identify and support test activities necessary to verify designs
- Prepare technical content and present to internal customers
- Support active production of the launch vehicle
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
- 5+ years of experience designing mechanical systems in aerospace
- Proficient in 3D CAD programs (Creo preferred)
- Experience with GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
- Knowledge of aerospace materials and manufacturing processes
- Experience with cryogenic, hydraulic, or pneumatic fluid systems
- Strong organizational skills and ability to communicate engineering information clearly
