Responsibilities
- Own firmware architecture from the MCU to cloud telemetry.
- Make decisions on processor selection, RTOS vs. embedded Linux, and toolchains.
- Write high-leverage code and review pull requests.
- Ensure firmware compliance with relevant UL standards.
- Manage real-time grid-balancing firmware and telemetry systems.
- Hire and coach the firmware engineering team.
- Collaborate with hardware and software teams to address challenges.
Job Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in production firmware for embedded systems.
- Proficient in C/C++ on MCUs and embedded Linux.
- Experience with BMS or inverter firmware and OTA systems.
- Proven ability to build and scale a firmware team.
- Strong architectural perspective with adaptability.
- Knowledge of the trade-offs in high-reliability systems.
- Willingness to relocate to Austin for the role.
