Responsibilities
- Design, evaluate, procure, assemble, and test primary structure, bracketry, and mechanisms for spacecraft.
- Develop requirements for components and systems including loads, interfaces, and functional requirements.
- Perform mechanical and thermal analysis for spacecraft systems.
- Integrate parts and systems into the spacecraft and document procedures for future improvements.
- Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring additional team members.
- Work collaboratively with the engineering team on various projects.
- Ensure compliance with design specifications and standards.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- 1-4 years of mechanical design or equivalent experience.
- Mastery of mechanical CAD software.
- Demonstrated fundamentals in mechanical and thermal analysis.
- Passion for hardware development and hands-on design experience.
- Experience with mechanical and/or thermal FEA is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with composite structures and vacuum environments is a bonus.
