Responsibilities
- Own subsystem design including architecture, analysis, detailed design, and testing.
- Perform rigorous analysis using calculations and finite element analysis (FEA).
- Drive validation and reliability through prototyping, testing, and root cause analysis.
- Identify and implement cost-reduction strategies in design and manufacturing.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to define system requirements and lead design reviews.
- Develop and maintain CAD standards and engineering documentation.
- Mentor junior engineers and serve as a technical lead.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 6+ years of experience, or a Master’s with 4+ years, or a PhD.
- Relevant industry experience in power generation, aerospace, or industrial hardware.
- Proven experience in taking mechanical systems from concept to deployed hardware.
- Proficiency with CAD (SolidWorks or similar) and creating detailed drawings.
- Experience with structural and thermal analysis (FEA and hand calculations).
- Familiarity with systems analysis and risk management tools.
- Experience in developing engineering processes and best practices.
