Responsibilities
- Design lenses and optical components for high-performance imaging systems
- Develop and implement test setups, procedures, and data collection
- Evaluate and analyze prototype and production optical system performance data
- Collaborate with senior staff, systems engineers, and mechanical engineers
- Serve as a subject matter expert in optical engineering
- Participate in interdisciplinary technical problem-solving
- Complete projects scoped for the internship duration
Job Requirements
- Pursuing a BS in Engineering, Physics, or Astronomy with optics coursework
- Demonstrated first principles approach to optical problems
- Familiarity with opto-mechanical components
- Experience with Matlab, Python, or other scripting languages
- Must have U.S. Person status and able to obtain a security clearance
- Ability to complete an in-person internship in Lexington, MA
- Preferred experience with optical design software and optical component testing
