Responsibilities
- Define and drive the strategic roadmap for photonic component and system development
- Lead architecture, design, modeling, and verification of advanced silicon and III-V photonics devices
- Oversee integration of optical components into chip-scale LiDAR and electro-optic transceiver systems
- Manage and mentor a cross-functional optics team, fostering innovation and technical excellence
- Collaborate with CMOS, packaging, and systems teams to ensure seamless integration and scalability
- Engage with external partners and customers to communicate technical progress and shape future requirements
- Support business development and funding efforts with technical insight and proposals
Job Requirements
- Ph.D. (preferred) or M.S. in electrical engineering, applied physics, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in integrated photonics, optical system design, or a closely related field
- Strong background in photonic component design
- Experience leading R&D teams and managing complex optical projects from concept to prototype or production
- Fluency in MATLAB, Python, or similar tools for data analysis
- Excellent technical communication skills and a proven ability to work across disciplines and with external stakeholders
- Deep knowledge of silicon photonics and III-V device design (preferred)
