Responsibilities
- Conceptualize, design, develop, and improve production processes through collaboration with manufacturing engineers.
- Serve as the primary technical interface to the development team, participating in design reviews and new product development.
- Support the operations team by resolving technical issues during production.
- Own the roadmap for increasing production capacity, including defining required capital equipment.
- Work on the shop floor with production teams to implement new processes and solve technical blockers.
- Conduct independent development work to identify and implement production improvements.
- Mentor and coach team members to enhance their skills and ensure alignment with technical vision.
Job Requirements
- Experience in developing functional specifications and design verification plans.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience with opto-mechanical systems and mechatronic systems.
- Familiarity with Low-Rate Manufacturing Environments and New Product Introduction.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing practices and Root Cause Analysis Techniques.
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams on product design.
- Preferred experience with SAP, NX Unigraphics, and Statistical Analysis Software.
