Responsibilities
- Interpreting mechanical hardware requirement specifications from interfacing systems.
- Developing and documenting mechanical system requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Conducting concept trade studies and providing mechanical expertise to evaluate design options.
- Planning and executing verification and validation activities to ensure the mechanical design meets all requirements.
- Preparing and presenting design progress, approach, and rationale to design review boards.
- Ensuring hardware designs meet size, weight, power, and cost budgets.
- Authoring, updating, and maintaining hardware specifications throughout the project lifecycle.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
- At least five years of mechanical engineering experience in product development for spaceflight or aerospace.
- Proficiency in solid modeling CAD software, such as SolidWorks.
- Experience conducting trade studies for mechanical design optimization.
- Competent with engineering calculations for stress, thermal, and dynamic analysis.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (Green Card holder).
