Mechanical Engineering Intern (Spring 2025)

Zipline is seeking interns to contribute to building a system that provides equitable access to critical healthcare supplies through the use of autonomous delivery drones.

• Develop concepts and evaluate tradeoffs based on product and engineering requirements
• Design parts and assemblies using CAD tools
• Build and test prototypes to gather learnings
• Collaborate with other teams and suppliers to review designs
• Design and run electro-mechanical testers to prove reliability of components
• Root cause failures and develop tests for replication
• Document work for easy understanding by others

• Completed at least the second year of Undergraduate studies
• Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals
• Automation experience with actuators and Raspberry Pi's
• Proficiency in CAD design
• Experience with complex projects involving mechanical, electrical, and software design
• Ability to change direction, communicate effectively, and plan work
• Positive attitude and willingness to solve critical problems
