The role is for an Automation & Controls Engineer at SpaceX's east coast launch site at Cape Canaveral Space Force base, responsible for the design, operation, installation, and test of low-power electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ground support control and instrumentation systems
  • Operate, upgrade, and maintain data acquisition system hardware
  • Design junction boxes and conveyances for end instruments
  • Create electrical schematics for new instrumentation
  • Address physical installation issues and wear/tear of electrical components
  • Write procedures for routine tasks and troubleshooting steps
  • Provide innovative solutions to challenges faced by the team

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
  • 3+ years of experience with instrumentation power systems design and/or data acquisition systems
  • Proficiency in electronics test rack design, data acquisition setup, and field measurements
  • Experience with electrical test equipment and PLCs
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, dynamic environment
  • Proficient in Python, SQL, HTML, Java, and MS Excel
  • Willingness to work weekends, night shifts, and travel to other launch sites
