Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical and fluidic research for technical validity and performance
- Design, prototype, and build key consumable parts and instrumental interfaces
- Develop thermal cycling modules and mechanical clamping mechanisms
- Define key design parameters for system-level development
- Participate in technical breakthroughs and integration of system modules
- Collaborate with manufacturing vendors for efficient development
- Assist in strategic planning and implementation of nanopore sequencing technologies
Job Requirements
- BS/MS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical, thermal, and/or fluidic aspects of biomedical R&D
- Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD design and Finite Element Analysis
- Experience with LabView and/or Python programming
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of quick prototyping techniques and building testbeds
