Design for Manufacturing Engineer - PCBA (Starlink)

The role is for a Design for Manufacturing Engineer - PCBA (STARLINK) at SpaceX, focusing on improving and maintaining quality requirements for the manufacturing of Starlink satellite and gateway PCBAs.

• Collaborate with Manufacturing and Supplier Development Engineers for SMT process requirements
• Drive consolidation of SMT assembly requirements
• Perform reviews of PCBs to address manufacturing issues
• Identify opportunities for optimizing product output and quality enhancements
• Develop test vehicles to validate new processes
• Drive corrective actions into designs based on manufacturing defects
• Propose new process for new designs and new silicon

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or other STEM discipline
• 1+ years work experience in SMT processing and/or microelectronics packaging
• Experience with reliability modeling of solder joints
• Knowledge of statistical techniques and methods
• Ability to work extended hours or weekends as needed for mission critical deadlines
