Mechanical Design Engineer (Propulsion Components)

SpaceX is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer (Propulsion Components) to work on the Falcon team, focusing on the development of reusable launch vehicles like Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy.

• Troubleshooting, development, and flight readiness of valves, regulators, and actuators
• Supporting, troubleshooting, and documenting component anomalies
• Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams on valve and vehicle investigations
• Generating detailed drawings and coordinating valve manufacturing
• Developing and executing qualification test plans
• Spearheading root cause investigations and redesigns
• Certifying hardware for crewed flight and repeated reuse

• Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline or physics
• 1+ years of experience designing and analyzing mechanical systems
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
• Understanding of fluid systems and solid mechanics
• Project management skills and effective communication across teams
• Hands-on experience with fluid and/or gas handling systems
• Knowledge of electro-mechanical devices
