Launch Engineer, Mechanical Systems (Launch Pads)

The role is for a Launch Engineer, Mechanical Systems at SpaceX in Cape Canaveral, FL, focusing on developing solutions for launch pad operations to enable human life on Mars.

• Serve as the responsible engineer for multiple launch pad mechanical systems and structures
• Utilize FEM software and hand calculations for design and issue disposition
• Work with a technician workforce for troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades
• Contribute to automation development and improvement
• Identify and implement upgrades to launch pad hardware and software
• Perform post-launch data review and present engineering data to government agencies
• Utilize CAD software for design and engineering drawing creation

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field
• 1+ years of experience with electro-mechanical hardware
• Experience with hazardous systems and instrumentation
• Proficiency in CAD software and finite element analysis
• Knowledge of engineering standards and best practices
• Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
