Mechanical Design Engineer (Starship Components)

SpaceX is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to work on Starship components, developing advanced spacecraft and launch vehicle components.

• Develop state-of-the-art flow control devices and mechanisms across Starship and Super Heavy stage systems
• Partner with various teams to achieve high component build rates and accelerate component delivery
• Generate and maintain detailed drawings, specifications, analysis, and risk assessments
• Spearhead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions
• Set standards for component design and qualification testing
• Target zero in-flight anomalies of propulsion components
• Collaborate with teams to arrive at the simplest solutions for the vehicle

• Bachelor’s degree in physics or an engineering discipline
• 1+ years of mechanical design/hands-on manufacturing experience
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
• Experience designing, building, testing, and troubleshooting mechanical systems
• Project management skills and effective communication
• Hands-on experience with fluid, gas, or high voltage systems
• Knowledge of electro-mechanical devices and fluid control devices
