Mechanical Engineering Intern

The Mechanical Engineering Intern role at Zoox involves contributing to the development of fully autonomous electric vehicles, engaging in hands-on projects across various teams, and gaining mentorship from experienced professionals in the field.

• Develop vehicle systems including body structures and electro-mechanisms.
• Collaborate with Mechanical Prototype Engineering and Fabrication teams on CNC part programming solutions.
• Support design assessments, inspection, maintenance, and tooling development.
• Assist in simulation and validation tasks for mechanical sensor structures.
• Engage in concept fabrication and testing of new designs.
• Participate in projects that contribute to Zoox’s mission of transforming mobility.
• Maintain good academic standing and demonstrate strong engagement in engineering principles.

• Currently pursuing a B.S., M.S., or advanced degree in a relevant engineering field.
• Plan to return to school after the internship.
• At least one prior industry internship or relevant project experience.
• Foundational understanding of mechanical design principles.
• Experience with CATIA V5/V6 or similar CAD software.
• Willingness to relocate to the Bay Area, California.
• Basic understanding of quality control and process optimization.
